We love Ullacombe Farm! It’s on the road to Haytor outside Bovey Tracey and clearly signposted. There’s plenty of parking both in the main yard and in an overflow area. It’s a great place to buy local produce and there’s a newly opened butchers on the same site. As well as fruit, veg, eggs and meat, there are homemade ready meals and pies in the freezer, bakery and grocery items and a range of gifts and cards. It’s a good spot to pick up something for dinner on the way down from the moor, or to eat in their lovely cafe. The food is reasonably priced and there’s comfortable seating as well as a play corner with toys and books for young children.
There’s also plenty of outdoor seating for warmer days and those wanting to keep an eye on children taking advantage of the fantastic play equipment, which includes a real tractor to climb on and a roomy playhouse in addition to the swings and slide. There’s a small selection of animals to visit (in a barn in colder months) and a woodland walk around the grounds.
