Easy to find near Clifton Hill Sports Centre, Belmont Park is a great place to take children of all ages and let them burn off some energy. There are lots of parking spaces in 2 hour bays, it’s on many bus routes and only a very short walk from Exeter City Centre.
There is a large dog-free enclosed space as well as ample green open space where dogs are allowed. Adult fitness equipment is found dotted around the park too.
There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the sunshine or eat a picnic, with benches near the play areas if you need to keep an eye on young children. There are no public toilets but Clifton Hill Sports Centre is over the road and the hut housing The Scrapstore/Toy Library also has a disabled cubicle.
If you’re looking for any art and craft materials then The Scrapstore is a brilliant place. The Toy Library is an absolutely fantastic resource for anyone with any contact with children and young people. I can’t speak highly enough of the range and quality of toys available, There is an online catalogue that you can check before going and many items are available on a long-loan basis eg baby equipment and outdoor toys.
