PBPB – Polsloe Bridge Park and Bikes!

If you’re looking for somewhere for learning to ride, Hamlin Lane Bike Area (or JLC as it used to be known) is a great find!

This is a brilliant place if you have young children getting to grips with cycling. You can find it off Hamlin Lane behind Polsloe Bridge, where there is a small amount of free parking and some public toilets. It is easy to reach by public transport as the station and bus stops on Pinhoe Road are all very close.

There are road markings and agility markings, as well as a small slope to practise braking and hill starts.
There is a long cycle path running alongside through to Whipton to allow a good run if just keeping going is the aim!

At the other side of the park is an additional entrance off Georges Close. Here there is more parking and a brilliant play park with lots of different equipment to appeal to all ages.

There are huge amounts of green space and some lovely views of open countryside across the railway line. There are goals and markings for ball games and picnic tables in the play area. The whole space is bordered by the Northbrook which you can venture down to in places if you’re looking for a splashy spot!
