If you’re struggling for ideas of things to do with the children when the weather is not so nice, have a look at these for inspiration!
Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Honiton
The Thelma Hulbert Gallery is a hidden gem in Honiton, central and easy to find with parking and public transport nearby. It is free to enter and they are running a family festive craft workshop this weekend. Drop in between 11-3 with no need to book.
The House of Marbles
A great place to visit whatever the weather, The House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey is even better in the run up to Christmas. You don’t have to book to see Father Christmas – just be prepared to wait a while, and there’s loads of things to look at while you do.
If there’s a break in the weather then the the outdoor play area is fab to exercise little legs and the cafe will provide a nice warm drink while you watch!
Seaton Jurassic
Free entry is being offered to this East Devon attraction all weekend if you show a lottery ticket on arrival before 1pm! Seaton Jurassic is run by Devon Wildlife Trust but has had support from the National Lottery and this is their way of saying Thank You! A fantastic opportunity to explore everything they have on offer.
Darts Farm
Raising money for a brilliant local cause – Hospiscare – Darts Farm operate a Santa’s Grotto for £4 per child that you don’t have to book for. While you wait you can have a mooch around the various festive displays and enjoy food from the café or shop. If it’s dry enough you can venture outside to explore their new play fort in the meadow.
