The Cadbury Egg Hunt at Local National Trust property Killerton is always a feature in our Easter holiday itinerary. As members it only costs us and additional £2.50 per child but for non-members admission and parking fees also apply.
We met friends early, and were glad we had as there were lots of other families keen to take part, despite the rainy conditions! We chose to follow the buggy friendly ‘tree discovery’ trail but could have taken the other of 2 offered routes which is dig friendly but more hilly and muddy and harder going with a pushchair.
We started (and finished) with a play in the ‘dragon park’ play area near the entrance, and followed the map to find egg-shaped clues and tree related questions as we went. There are lots of opportunities for outdoor play around the estate and the frequent detours and swing stops meant we took a whole morning over completing the questions!
At the end of the trail you get to swap your completed trail map for a chocolatey Easter treat – yum!
