Friday Five – free days out!

1) House of Marbles

The House Of Marbles is a fantastic place where you can visit the #MuseumofMarbles, watch glass being created and crafted by Teign Valley Glass, enjoy the mesmerising marble runs (including a giant one!) and play in their great play area too. Entry is free 👍

There’s also a lovely cafe doing great cream teas.

2) The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth

Entry and parking at the donkey sanctuary are free, and there are walking trails, an outside play area, indoor learning zones and a tricky maze to explore – all at no cost!

There is an optional summer ‘Hide and Seek’ trail for £3 which includes a treat when completed and if you’ve got the pennies then the cafe has amazing views and yummy food!

3) DiscoverHannahs at Seale-Hayne

The site at Seale-Hayne is free to visit and free to park, with loads of outdoor space to explore and a huge range of free, low cost and prebookable activities to take part in.

This summer they have transformed the walls into an artistic paradise and everyone is welcome to join in! We had a brilliant time doodling and playing with a group of all ages! Read the full blog post here.

4) Seaton Wetlands

Seaton Wetlands is a great place to head if you want to stretch everyone’s legs and be sure to see wildlife! Parking is by donation and it’s free to enter.

There are lots of pushchair friendly paths which makes taking littler ones easy, and there’s a wildlife spotting trail for bigger ones for £1 each (sheets available from the Lookout or Discovery Hut)

There’s lots of outside seating for taking your own snacks or picnics, and there is a volunteer run snack shop open at times. Read about our previous adventures here.

5) Darts Farm, Topsham

Darts Farm’s famous sunflowers can be picked for a suggested donation of 50p per stem, with all proceeds going to Hospicecare (how fab is that!)

You can also walk all around the farm on paths, visit the maize maze and explore the lakes before playing in the adventure play area.

Parking, playing and entry to the site are free! You can read more about our Darts Farm adventures here.
