Drakes Farm Cafe

Drakes Farm is easily found, not far off the A30 near Crockernwell. After driving through Cheriton Bishop and entering Crockernwell, there are clear signs showing you where to go.

There’s a large free car park and 2 buildings. One is Oinkers Farm Shop selling local meat, produce and plants, and the other is the lovely cafe leading to animals and play areas.

The cafe had a wide range of food available, we decided to sample the yummy ice creams and explore the indoor play before heading outside and visiting the animals.

The indoor play area is perfect for small children, with soft matting and lots of tempting toys, a blackboard, mirrors and rocking horse.

Outside there is a fabulous sandpit and lots of running around space with a tunnel, as well as space to sit and eat on sunny days.

Food to feed the larger animals was thoughtfully provided in easy – to – carry buckets and the children absolutely loved sharing it between the very receptive diners!

There are lots of animals to look at – pigs, sheep, chicks, ducklings, hens, horses, goats…

Handwashing facitilites and impressively clean loos are available and visitors are encouraged not to take human food into the animal meadow area.

This is a lovely spot, well worth a visit! Please make sure you check opening times before travelling as currently they are limited to Thurs-Sun.
