This 2km loop walk is tucked away next to the Lidl distribution centre in Clyst Honiton. It has a riverside path, open field views and a really rural feel, all while being just moments from the M5 and A30!
The number 4/4a bus has stops and there’s plenty of free parking available in roadside bays outside The Exeter and The Duke of York pubs. The footpath is clearly signposted next to a water station.
The path immediately crosses the river on a smart new bridge before the path takes you along the water’s edge for a while.
Where the river takes a turn towards Lidl you continue along the field edge before taking a farm track on the left that inclines gently uphill.
You cross the farm yard, keeping the buildings on your left. You join a lane (Mosshaynes Lane) and head left to where you eventually join Blackhorse Lane.
Heading left down Blackhorse Lane brings you back to the main road where you can turn left and return to where you started.
Refreshments are available at The Blackhorse as well as the 2 pubs in Clyst Honiton. The shops, pub and cafe at Cranbrook are just few minutes drive away.
